Newly released still cuts from episode 3 show a tense night scene where Kang Cheol-i (played by Yook Sung-jae), who is tragically trapped in the body of his first love Yoon-gap, and the mystic shaman Yeori (Kim Ji-yeon), are gripped by fear in a dark corner of the palace. Kang Cheol-i presses his hand over Yeori’s mouth to muffle her gasp, indicating the harrowing nature of what stands before them.
The next frame reveals Kang Cheol-i gripping Yeori’s shoulders, his piercing gaze suggesting an urgent need to protect her, as she stands frozen in shock. What have they seen? Viewers are left hanging, as the suspense builds around their encounter and the greater threat looming.
Previously on episode 2, Yeori had received an ominous message from the spirit Su-sal-gwi (played by Song Su-i), warning her that Yoon-gap’s spirit had been devoured by a cruel revenge ghost known as Eight-Rowed Radish (팔척귀). With increasing signs of the palace being haunted, and supernatural entities at work, fans are anticipating episode 3 to bring more ghostly twists and a deeper immersion into Korea’s spiritual folklore. The mysterious Eight-Rowed Radish seems to play a central role in this escalating battle between the living, the dead, and the cursed.
