K-Indie Band Jannabi Unveils Glimpse of Upcoming Album ‘Sound of Music pt.1’
Beloved South Korean indie band Jannabi is set to return with their much-anticipated fourth full-length album, Sound of Music pt.1, offering fans a tantalizing preview ahead of its official release. On June 23rd, the group released a teaser clip via their official social media channels that showcases seven out of the album’s eight tracks—excluding the title track In the Name of Love!
The cinematic video snippet is a noteworthy shift for the band, as it features the members themselves in acting roles. Entering a recording studio with commanding presence, they declare, “The time has come. It’s time to show them,” before dramatically cueing the audio preview. As the title track approaches, they humorously interject, “Not that one yet!” — a moment that has resonated with fans online.
The album explores Jannabi’s signature sentimental sound, now evolved through a technique they refer to as Sound Collage. This auditory aesthetic marries retro nostalgia with modern storytelling, yielding a richly layered musical experience. Tracks featured in the teaser include Music, FLASH, I Will Die for You ♥︎X3, Watched the Sunset Alone from the Rooftop, Juno! Tell Me the Rainbow Coordinates!, All Boys and Girls 1: Birdman, and All Boys and Girls 2: Rainbow.
The lyrical depth of Sound of Music pt.1 promises to bridge fantasy with reality, interweaving sentiments of romance, emotion, and existential contemplation with the unmistakable Jannabi flair. At the project’s core lies a message: “Music is not fantasy, but reality.”
To celebrate the launch, Jannabi will host a two-day concert titled All Boys and Girls 2025 at Seoul’s Jamsil Indoor Stadium on June 26th and 27th, giving fans a live taste of the soundscape they’ve meticulously crafted. The full album is slated for digital release across major platforms on June 28th at 6 PM KST.
With retro-pop influences, theater-like presentation, and forward-thinking artistry, Jannabi’s new era solidifies their place as storytellers of Korea’s indie scene, poised for broader international recognition.
