Dating rumors between G-DRAGON and Lee Joo-yeon have once again taken the spotlight. On April 27, a post titled ‘Looks like G-DRAGON is dating Lee Joo-yeon’ went viral on an online community.
The post claimed that a recent photo uploaded by Lee Joo-yeon on her social media story features an interior strikingly similar to G-DRAGON’s house, alongside a cat wearing the same scarf as one owned by G-DRAGON. Fans noted these coincidences as possible signs of a rekindled relationship.
This isn’t the first time dating rumors around the two stars have surfaced. Since 2017, various photos of them allegedly taken at the same locations have fueled speculation, although both parties consistently stated they were just ‘close friends.’ In January 2018, reports emerged claiming the pair were visiting each other’s homes and even went on a joint trip to Jeju Island.
In May 2019, Lee Joo-yeon shared a video featuring G-DRAGON on Instagram, reigniting romance discussions. Later in 2021, after G-DRAGON was rumored to be dating BLACKPINK’s Jennie (Kim Jennie), Lee Joo-yeon faced an influx of malicious comments on her social media posts. Users even misinterpreted her posting a scene from the Netflix drama ‘Anne of Green Gables’ as a cryptic reference to that situation.
While the recent online chatter has once again sparked interest, neither G-DRAGON nor Lee Joo-yeon has issued an official statement regarding their relationship status.
Lee Joo-yeon debuted in 2009 with the girl group After School and transitioned to an acting career after her idol days ended in 2014. G-DRAGON has been a key figure in K-pop since his 2006 debut with BIGBANG and renewed his contract with YG Entertainment for the third time in 2020.
