Deep Dive, 'Narcos-Saint' Netflix[Ep. Hwang Jeong Min]

The success of Netflix's original series "Narco-Saints" is surprising.

"Narco-Saints" claimed the top spot in the non-English-speaking drama category on Netflix's official "Netflix Top 10" website on September 23 with 62.65 million hours of viewing time during the third week of September (12-18). In the second week of September (5–11th), the first week of the tally, Surinam, which was revealed on the 9th, started fifth and advanced four spots in one week.

1. Introduction

Hwang Jung-min and Kang Ho-dong were in the same class at Masan Middle School. Hwang Jung-min remembered Kang Ho-dong as a "white-faced and cute child" while he was in the same middle school class with him in Masan. Although Kang Ho-dong was unaware of this information, he remarked, "I felt I saw him somewhere from a long time ago," upon hearing Hwang Jung-min.

Hwang uses his left hand. He  use his left hand for everything, including eating and exercising.  Son Seok-hee added, "I feel strange acting with his right hand because he is left-handed," in a news interview.  But Ihe use his right hand for writing.

Hwang Jung-min's personality can be seen in the movie Hostage: Missing Celebrity, which shows his outspoken swearing, hot temper, and urgent personality.

2. Background

The representation firm for actor Hwang Jung-min is Sam Company, which was founded in 2010. The founder is "Kim Mi-hye," the wife of Hwang Jung-min, and Kim Do-hoon, Park Jung-min, Baek Ju-hee, Ryu Seung-beom, and Lim Sung-jae are all members. Sam Company is renowned as a company that manages celebrities and creates musicals and plays.

Hwang Jung-min is known as an actor with many ad-libs when he acts. I give a lot of impromptu ideas on the moment, but I don't actually do surprising ad-libs, he added. After he consult with everyone nearby including the director, he said he is acting like it was an ad-libs. He also remarked, to use his words, “I think unexpected behavior is not polite to people who share the work.”

3. Actor Life

When Hwang Jung-min was a student at the Seoul National University of Arts' Department of Theater, he had his acting debut in a small part in director Lim Kwon-Taek's " General's son"  He made a brief cameo as a federal agent questioning Han Seok-kyu in the second part of the 1999 movie "Shiri," which starred Han Seok-kyu.

The sequence was not pre-cast; rather, it was added immediately before production as he ran to answer a call from a senior he knew. After that, he gradually started to establish himself as one of director Lim Soon-rye's "Waikiki  Brothers" in 2001. At this point, Hwang Jung-fame min's was not particularly widespread. The problematic movies "A Good Lawyer's Wife" and "A Bittersweet Life" directed by Lim Sang-soo, however, have tremendously benefited from Hwang Jung-min's outstanding performances.

Finally, Jeon Do-yeon and he shared the 2005 26th Blue Dragon Film Awards' Best Actor prize. Hwang Jung-min has primarily portrayed ordinary young men, such as the male lead in "You Are My Sunshine," but he also appeared as a nasty and cruel gangster boss in "A Bittersweet Life" and managed to change roles like a chameleon by playing a competent detective in "Bloody Tie."
