The story of Kim So-yong, a heavyweight possessed by the soul of Jang Bong-hwan, a bluffing man living in modern times, is told in tvN's "Mr. Queen," a fusion historical comedy-drama that ranks second in the weekly Netflix broadcast/drama rankings in the third week of March 2023.

Bae Jong-ok, in particular, who gave a passionate performance in a historical drama for the first time in a long time, was an indispensable presence. She demonstrated many charms by portraying Daewangbi, the court's power.

She was drawn in by her all-around performance, which included visuals, acting, and chemistry. Other than eating colorful hanboks, the heavy eyeliner done with the ends of the eyes raised to the fullest became a trademark for the king.

For the past ten years, Bae Jong-ok has been telling her friends that she wants to do comedy. Mr. Queen is the first person to demonstrate humorous acting in a drama.

She also recounted a casting event in which she was given a role in "Mr. Queen." "I said I would think about appearing if I could expand the queen's funny character a bit more," Bae Jong-ok remarked, but if the writer is a comedian, she's quite confident. "I had a lot of fun pretending to understand the code of comedy that the writer tosses at me one by one," she remarked.

She wasn't always as talented as he is today, but she's a typical hardworking actor. It's so incredible that she even received a doctorate. What kind of person is Bae Jong-ok who is passionate about everything?

1. Who is Bae Jong-ok?

Actors and actresses from South Korea. She began her acting career while working in the high school theatrical club. She made her debut as a KBS special guest in 1985. She had previously appeared in Jang Hyun-soo's film "Comfort" before her debut.

Her distinct voice, precise diction, and steady, subdued vocalization combine to make him one of the top actresses in the business. She has extensive acting experience in a variety of roles and genres.

Bae Jong-ok is believed to be famed for her awful acting after being hired as a KBS special recruit, she heard from the PD at the time, "Is this all you can do?"She was summoned separately by her seniors and severely reprimanded, so she went to the Nearby restroom and sobbed. Yet, she was chastised for her poor performance. According to legend, it was largely due to Bae Jong-characteristic ok's tingling, hard, and icy voice.

Despite harsh criticism at the start of her career, Bae Jong-ok attracted attention for her innocent, cute, and coy beauty, and drama parts continued to come in, and Bae Jong-ok demonstrated recurring progress in numerous works. Finally, her acting abilities were recognized, and her distinct voice was praised as the greatest in her dialogue delivery.

2. What is her personality?

Her demeanor is direct, assertive, and self-contained.

Her tone is essentially that of an angry person, thus her juniors are terrified of her at the filming location, but she is said to be a person who treats those around him kindly.

When reporters asked formal questions like "When I asked, "When is your birthday?" and "What kind of work is this?" (despite the fact that we had already examined and knew what it was), they asked, "Did you not investigate that?"

She also demonstrated an attitude by responding, ". In the past, the entertainment show "Knee-pak-dosa" said, "I only said it to a reporter who wasn't prepared," but that was a question to be published in an article, not because the reporter himself didn't know, and there was a response that it was too much to blame the reporter.

When a person who was acting with Bae Jong-ok makes an NG in the "You Can't Stop Them at All" NG video, her expression changes abruptly. When Jang Mi-na, a child actor who co-starred with her daughter, made the same error, she remarked calmly, "Won't you wake up right away?" I wondered if it was an even NG video to make her laugh.

The institution is well-known for its tough professors. "Do you award F grades to your juniors as well?" he was questioned on the entertainment show "Radio Star." "I think sincerity is absolutely important," she remarked. Many performers believe they became actors because of their temperament or popularity, and I want to break down the concepts."

3. Bae Jong-ok's Activities (Actress Life)

She made her debut as a KBS special guest in 1985. She had previously appeared in Jang Hyun-soo's film "Comfort" before her debut. For the first time, she played a cathode ray tube in a KBS Sunday morning drama. Bae Jong-ok received the Popularity Award at the 1987 KBS Acting Awards for her work in the daily soap opera "Blue Sunflower" and the KBS drama "Nodaji."

Jang Hyun-soo, her debut film's first director, earned the 29th Daejong Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1988 for her screenplay "Picture of a Young Day," as well as the MBC Drama Awards Women's Achievement Award at the end of the year. From the early 1990s, urban and sophisticated images, as well as moderation, have been added, and she has become a top actress in name and reality.

Kim Mi-ok, who played an elderly woman who worked at a fish market as a child divorcee in the 2004 drama "Beautiful More Than Flowers," was commended for her portrayal of a typical Korean woman. Beginning with "Hey, Brother," Kim Soo-hyung's "My Man's Wife" was entirely converted into a housewife, mother, and ajumma actress in 2007, cementing the image of Bae Jong-ok we know today.

Bae Jong-ok is a "Kim Soo-hyun Division" and a "No Hee-kyung Division" since he appears in numerous works of Noh Hee-kyung, beginning with falsehoods. "Silly Love," Noh Hee-Kyung's 2000 drama, is a disgusting drama that had the lowest ratings in terrestrial drama history till 2017. The main reason for this drama's low ratings was that it aired at the same time as Heo Jun. Bae Jong-ok, who generally played the role of a modern woman who was smart, can be viewed in a goofy way, and she won the Excellence Award at the KBS Acting Awards in honor of his playing metamorphosis.

She appears in "Wonderful Mama" in 2013 as the chairman of a loan company that lost her husband, and the attention is more on her as a mother than a chairman, therefore she is described as absolutely opposite the image of the loan company chairman displayed in other media. I filmed a loan promo as a result of the influence.

In the second part of 2017, she portrayed Hong Ji-won, a rare villain in KBS2's daily drama "A Woman Without a Name," in which the veteran was also criticized for her poor acting. Of course, it paled in comparison to Seo Ji-seok's performance as Kim Moo-yeol, but I assumed it was an issue of performing ability if the actor with 33 years of experience was controversial, as she demonstrated her original acting skills in the second half, the actor's writing sounded bizarre.

Afterward, tvN Live, 60 Days, Designated Survivor, and MBN Elegant Family all performed considerably better, demonstrating that the awful acting in "The Unnamed Woman" was due to an issue with the screenplay and directing. Han Je-guk of the exquisite family, in particular, was a villain like Hong Ji-won, although he displayed superior acting talents to Hong Ji-won.

4. Interview Related to Drama ‘Mr. Queen’

Q. You made the home theater chuckle with your performance as Queen Sunwon in the fusion historical drama "Mr. Queen." How did you find it?

-There was no drama in the air that caused me to laugh so hard. They were almost all serious works. There is still a strong desire to present a new image. It opened up an endless number of options for character change.

Q. Is there anything you didn't have in the past but now have in Noh Hee-kyung's drama "Lie"?

-It's a comedic film. I'm fascinated by comedy. I was engrossed in seriousness at the moment of the "lying." I couldn't bear the brightness.

Q. Why did you decide to create an acting school?

I've been teaching at a university for approximately ten years, and I don't believe anyone can teach basic attitudes to my juniors these days.
I grew up being chastised. I decided to become a senior who spoke about the fundamentals that I would have to follow in the field.

Education is critical in the beginning. In our academy, there are no entrance exams. I attempted to create a space for friends who are serious about studying acting. You can do as much as you desire while maintaining the fundamentals, such as keeping time, memorizing lines, and greeting.

Q. How did you feel when your acting abilities were called into question at the start of your debut?

Even if something difficult occurs, you do not have to do it because the world appears to be ending. We progress to success through making mistakes. Failure should not be feared.

Q. How do you feel as time passes?

I'm attempting to accept my former self. I began exercising because I didn't want to appear sluggish while still feeling the limitations of my physical power, and as a result, I am still young and healthy.
