So Ji-sub’s Return to Action

So Ji-sub, the renowned actor, is making a celebrated return to action acting after a 13-year hiatus. At a press meeting held at the Grand Ballroom of the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 5th, So Ji-sub expressed his surprise and delight at returning to action roles.

About the Film ‘Plaza’

The film ‘Plaza’ (광장) tells the story of Gi-jun, portrayed by So Ji-sub, who cuts his Achilles’ tendon and leaves the world of Plaza. After learning of the death of his brother Gi-seok, an organization’s second-in-command, he returns after 11 years to seek revenge and uncover the truth.

Director Choi Sung-eun’s Insights

Director Choi Sung-eun shared insights about the character of Gi-jun, stating:

> “Gi-jun, and indeed all characters, have their own desires and emotions. Understanding their motivations is key to following the story. In action scenes, emotions are critical; without them, it may just seem like physical clashes.”
