Weak Hero Class 2, released on Netflix on April 25, dives into the life of model student Yeon Si-eun, played by Park Ji-hoon, who transfers to Eunjang High School carrying trauma from a past he could not save. Determined never to lose another friend, he battles against greater violence in this raw, coming-of-age survival tale. Lee Jun-young plays Geum Seong-jae, a free spirit who avoids attachment and lives for thrill. His nuanced portrayal of the sly yet chilling character further proves his strength as a transformative actor.

This Netflix Korean original stormed the global charts, ranking #1 in the Global Non-English TV category within three days of release. It maintained its top spot in South Korea’s Top 10 series and broke into the Top 10 lists across 63 countries, including Brazil, Mexico, France, Indonesia, and Thailand—making it one of the platform’s most talked-about international series.

On the heels of this success, Lee Jun-young stars as Do Hyun-joong in KBS2’s new romantic comedy 24-Hour Gym, which premiered on April 30. This high-energy drama tells the story of a passionate gym owner healing the lives of anxious clients through fitness, all wrapped in quirky rom-com flair. Formerly a world-renowned bodybuilder, Hyun-joong unexpectedly inherits a rundown gym, marking the beginning of his transformational journey.

Lee’s seamless shift into comedic territory earned him praise, as he embodies the charming and slightly eccentric gym owner with refreshing charisma. The show quickly rose to success, ranking #1 on Disney+ Korea’s Top 10 list and #2 in WAVVE’s Drama Top 20 by May 3.

Lee’s unstoppable streak trails earlier works in 2024, including Netflix hits Melo Movie (February) and Got Fooled (March). Each project sets a new benchmark for his dynamic performances.
