Park Ji-hoon Shares Heartwarming Story About Gifting an SUV to His Father
Park Ji-hoon recently melted hearts by recalling an emotional moment when he gifted an SUV to his father. The ‘Weak Hero Class 2’ star appeared on the YouTube channel ‘청계산댕이레코즈’ alongside co-stars Lee Jun-young and Yoo Soo-min for a special interview segment led by Jo Jung-suk’s popular alter ego, ‘Jo Jeom-seok.’
During the lighthearted interview, Jo Jeom-seok asked, “What’s the most movie-like moment in your life?” Without hesitation, Park Ji-hoon responded, “I still remember the moment I bought a car and gave it to my father.”
He shared that his father has always loved SUVs, so he decided to purchase one as a meaningful gift. “He’s still driving it to this day,” he said with a smile. “I’ll never forget the look on his face when I gave it to him.” He added with a chuckle, “At the time, he said, ‘Where did you get the money?’ and I joked that I’d gone overboard even though I didn’t really have money.”
Park Ji-hoon, who debuted as the center of popular K-pop group Wanna One, has since pivoted into acting. He received critical acclaim for his role as Yeon Si-eun in ‘Weak Hero Class 1,’ and continues his performance in the recently released ‘Weak Hero Class 2’ on Netflix.
The show, written by Park Hyun-woo and Yoo Soo-min and directed by Yoo Soo-min with overall planning by Han Jun-hee, follows Yeon Si-eun—an honor student who transfers to a new school after a trauma caused by failing to protect a friend. Determined not to repeat his past, he confronts overwhelming violence in a fierce journey of survival and growth.
Park Ji-hoon’s compelling portrayal of Yeon Si-eun has further solidified his standing as a rising actor in South Korea’s entertainment scene. Fans and viewers continue to commend his emotional depth and evolution as a performer.
