MeloMance’s Jung Dong-hwan Applauds Park Bo-gum’s Musical Talent
On the May 25 episode of KBS 2TV’s music talk show The Seasons – Park Bo-gum’s Cantabile, viewers were treated to electrifying performances under the theme of “Record of Youth.” Featured guests included the band LUCY, groups MeloMance and TOURUS (TWS), and actors Jung Eun-ji and Lee Joon-young.
During their stage appearance, MeloMance captivated the audience with powerful performances. Jung Dong-hwan couldn’t hide his admiration for Park Bo-gum’s piano skills, stating, “This is our seventh session together, and I’m genuinely amazed. He plays the piano as professionally as trained musicians and singers. Frankly, he could easily earn money as a session musician for other artists.” Jung highlighted Park’s immediate improvisation abilities and unique style of playing music by ear rather than relying strictly on sheet music.
Park Bo-gum humbly responded, “I’m the beloved Park Bo-gum who gets praised by Jung Dong-hwan,” sparking laughter both on and off stage.
The Deep Bond Between Jung Dong-hwan and Kim Min-seok
Adding to the emotional atmosphere, Jung Dong-hwan and Kim Min-seok shared their 15-year-long friendship story, filled with early misunderstandings and eventual brotherhood. Jung reminisced about meeting Kim during their university orientation, describing him as a tall, dependable figure with glasses. Kim joked about feeling betrayed during their early days but later admitting that he realized Jung’s warmth and sincerity, leading them to form a lasting musical partnership.
The duo has now spent ten years as a team and 15 years as friends, showcasing a remarkable bond.
Overcoming Rough Patches Through Tears and Music
The conversation took a heartfelt turn when Park Bo-gum gingerly brought up rumors of a fallout between the two. Archive footage from You Hee-yeol’s Sketchbook revealed Jung tearing up while looking at Kim Min-seok, highlighting a painful but ultimately healing chapter in their relationship.
Jung confessed, “We had some conflict, and I wanted to reconcile during ‘Sketchbook,’ but my emotions overcame me.” Kim humorously added, “I was shocked because he cried without warning!” They later made peace over drinks in the early hours, now cherishing an unbreakable friendship that’s stronger than ever.
