Kian84 and Key Bring Heartwarming Moments and Healing Vibes to I Live Alone

Key of SHINee heals his soul through nostalgic food and nature in Gangwon Province on I Live Alone

On the latest episode of MBC’s I Live Alone, beloved webtoon artist Kian84 and SHINee’s Key delivered touching emotional stories and healing experiences, connecting across generations and nature.

Kian84 revisited an orphanage he had once volunteered at seven years ago, this time bringing along alumni from his alma mater to create a beautiful wall mural. Their volunteer work offered more than just color to the institution—it brought light to the hearts of viewers. The highlight came when the children gifted Kian84 a four-leaf clover, a symbol of their pure affection. That moment, aired at 11:56 PM, marked the show’s peak minute, hitting a rating high of 7.7%.

According to Nielsen Korea, the episode achieved a household viewership rating of 6.2% in the Seoul metropolitan area, ranking first among Friday variety programs. Even more notably, it topped the highly coveted 2049 demographic ratings with 3.0%.

Humorous and sincere as ever, Kian84 managed to charm viewers with his authenticity, even joking about not having GD’s phone number while talking about potential guest stars for his school festival. He personally finished the mural, including fun elements like bananas and blueberries that the children requested. The highlight was not the art itself, but the emotion it carried—Kian84’s unwavering dedication and love for the children.

Meanwhile, Key from SHINee took a soul-recharging trip to his “hometown of the heart”: Gangwon Province. He began his journey by visiting a traditional restaurant he had frequented for over a decade. Welcomed like family, he indulged in a feast of oak mushroom chicken soup and seasonal side dishes. His appreciation for the food and place became a heartening scene of nostalgia and gratitude.

Not stopping there, Key packed some leftovers with care and made his way to Hwamsa Temple, Goseong, where he experienced Buddhist serenity despite being a Christian. Moved by both philosophy and scenery, he received symbolic gifts, including a jade bracelet and fresh pears, leading him to remark, “Things like this keep happening when I come to Gangwon.”

Next week’s episode teases appearances by Yook Sung-jae and Kim Dae-ho, promising more relatable singles’ lives and nostalgic journeys.
