Child Actor Lee Chun-moo Shares Touching Story About Park Bo-gum on Knowing Bros
In a special Children’s Day episode aired on JTBC’s Knowing Bros (Men on a Mission) on May 3, the spotlight was on Korea’s rising young talents. Among them was child actor Lee Chun-moo, who gained attention for his role as young Gwansik in the drama 폭싹 속았수다.
Lee Chun-moo shared a heartfelt behind-the-scenes story about working with superstar Park Bo-gum during the filming of 폭싹 속았수다. “The shoot was two years ago, and I had to get makeup all over from head to toe. It felt weird eating without washing up, but my mom told me nobody would notice, so I just washed my hands and ate,” he recalled, earning laughter and empathy from the show’s cast.
When asked if he knew he was playing the younger version of Park Bo-gum’s character, Chun-moo admitted, “I knew, but I didn’t expect to be picked because we don’t look alike. But I was thrilled to be chosen.”
He went on to praise Park Bo-gum’s kindness. “During the script reading, Bo-gum hyung sat diagonally across from me. The table was big, so he walked over just to say, ‘Gwansik, I look forward to working with you.’ It was the first time an adult actor greeted a child actor that warmly. I was really touched,” Chun-moo said, impressing the audience with his sincerity.
Highlighting his favorite scene from the drama, Lee Chun-moo chose the moment where young Gwansik delivers ‘Jogoo’ to Aesoon’s house. “Telling her, ‘One’s on the house,’ subtly shows his caring nature. It really brings out Gwansik’s personality,” he explained.
When one of the hosts asked how he felt about Aesoon’s harsh treatment of Gwansik in the drama, Lee Chun-moo responded, “From my own perspective, I didn’t get it. Even when I gave her chicken or Jogoo, she reacted with criticism. But as an actor, I immersed myself in Gwansik’s emotions and acted accordingly.” His professional mindset garnered admiration from the cast and viewers alike.
This special episode of Knowing Bros proved to be more than just fun and games — it delivered heartfelt stories that showcased the emotional intelligence and professionalism of Korea’s next-generation stars.
