BTS’s Jung Kook Sets Historic Streaming Milestones on Spotify

BTS Jung Kook makes history on Spotify with billions of global streams

Even during his military service, BTS’s Jung Kook continues to make international headlines by setting unprecedented streaming records on Spotify, showcasing his incomparable influence as a world-class K-Pop solo artist.

Jung Kook became the first Korean soloist ever to chart on Spotify’s Global Top Artist rankings for a total of 100 weeks, an extraordinary achievement that highlights his enduring global popularity.

With his solo single Seven, Jung Kook shattered records as the fastest track in Spotify history to hit 100 million, 900 million, 1 billion, and 1.1 billion streams (pre-filtered). He became the quickest and first Asian soloist to surpass 2.3 billion streams on the platform.

On Spotify’s main chart, Weekly Top Songs Global, Seven maintained a record-breaking presence of 93 consecutive weeks. In addition, his debut solo album Golden also achieved a stunning 77 weeks on the same chart, setting a new bar for Asian solo artists.

Jung Kook also hit #1 on Spotify’s Daily Global Chart with hits like Seven, 3D, and Standing Next to You, a rare trifecta for any solo recording artist.

Most notably, Golden became the first and only album by an Asian solo artist to surpass 5.5 billion streams and counting. As of now, Jung Kook’s Spotify profile, including all associated credits, has reached an astronomical 8.7 billion cumulative streams, making him the fastest K-Pop soloist to reach such a figure.

Jung Kook also made headlines for reaching 1 billion combined plays with just three tracks—Dreamers, Left and Right, and Stay Alive—becoming the fastest K-Pop solo artist to accomplish this feat.

Moreover, Seven broke global records with 89.7 million weekly streams (post-filtering), the most ever for a male artist’s song, and also set a speed record for hitting 100 million filtered streams.

In recognition of these groundbreaking accomplishments, Jung Kook was officially recognized in the Guinness World Records, holding four separate world titles for his Spotify performances. His record-breaking statistics not only mark milestones for K-Pop, but position him as a global music icon of the new era.
