Ahn Jae-hyun Gets Caught Off Guard by Friends’ Revelations on ‘I Live Alone’

During the June 9 broadcast of Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation’s I Live Alone, South Korean actor Ahn Jae-hyun delighted viewers by reconnecting with his lifelong friends in a rural countryside setting. The episode captured the group’s heartfelt moments, laughter, and unexpected revelations, giving a rare glimpse into Ahn’s private life and personality outside of the spotlight.

Ahn arrived at a traditional hanok house in Gyeonggi Province, bringing along a generous amount of beef to share with his friends. These friends, who have known him since elementary school, middle, and high school, greeted him warmly. ‘These are my best friends from my teen years,’ Ahn shared, as he expressed his appreciation for the family of one friend, whom he described as his “role model.”

As they reminisced over old photos, Ahn was soon enlisted to help with gardening chores. Though initially flustered, Ahn gamely joined in, donning gloves and attempting to shovel soil. Despite the comedic struggle and lack of proper technique, unlike his more adept friends, Ahn laughed at his own inexperience, joking, ‘I use fashion muscles.’

The heartfelt reunion took a humorous turn when one of Ahn’s friends revealed a story from their school days. ‘There were older girls who liked Jae-hyun when we were in first grade. He got dragged away because he wouldn’t return their affections,’ he recounted, leaving Ahn visibly embarrassed. Ahn explained, ‘They called me out during lunch and had me sit in the middle while they surrounded me. They didn’t even confess – they just sat there. It was intimidating at the time, though funny now.’

Surprised by the reminder, Ahn joked about how his friends had hidden behind curtains during the encounter, while they brushed it off as a prank. Ahn retorted, ‘A prank? It went on for a whole month!’ leaving everyone in laughter.
