BTS’ Jin Returns With Emotionally Stirring New Mini Album
Jin of BTS Shares the Echoes of Life in His Second Mini Album
Jin, a member of the globally renowned group Bulletproof Boy Scouts (BTS), officially released his second solo mini album ‘Echo’ worldwide on the 16th at 1 PM KST. The album explores various moments in life, expressed through the theme of ‘echo’—an emotional reverberation that connects listeners across time and space.
Unlike his previous album ‘Happy’, which focused on spreading joy, ‘Echo’ delves deeper into sincere, contemplative emotions. Featuring a rich range of themes such as love, friendship, choices, and shared moments, the album is a personal reflection crafted through Jin’s unique lens. Comprised of seven tracks, the album captures the emotional footprints of life’s simple yet profound experiences.
Title Track ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’ Offers Delicate Contradiction
The album’s title track ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’ tackles the ironic tension when a collapsing relationship still clings to love. Jin’s clear and subtle vocals contrast the emotional complexity, creating a heart-stirring resonance.
“I wanted the title song to be something listeners could enjoy effortlessly,” says Jin. “Though it’s slower-paced than the other tracks, I was certain it would touch hearts.”
Behind the Lyrics: Inspirations From Animation and Live Stages
When asked about his songwriting process, Jin shared, “I usually write lyrics based on the initial feeling a song gives me.” He immersed himself in animated films while writing ‘A Journey With Clouds’, and imagined performing on stage during the creation of ‘Nothing Without Your Love’, shedding tears often throughout the process.
Music Video With Shin Se-kyung Highlights Vulnerability
The music video for ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’ features Korean actress Shin Se-kyung. “It was my first time acting alongside someone, so I was nervous and awkward,” Jin admitted. “Shin Se-kyung was incredibly supportive, and I’m thankful for her warm performance.” The windy day during the shoot inspired a spontaneous hairstyle change, giving the final cut a refreshing visual twist.
The Echoes of Coldplay and a Special Gift
One of the most ‘echoing’ moments recently for Jin was his guest performance at Coldplay’s concert in Korea last April. “Hearing the audience’s sing-along moved me deeply,” he recalled. “It made me wish for more moments like that in my own concerts.”
Jin also shared a heartfelt anecdote about Coldplay carrying a stuffed animal character he gifted them—‘Wootteo’—throughout their global tour. “Though it’s weathered by time, I recently gave them a new one as a sign of appreciation,” he said with a smile.
Connection With ARMY and Future Aspirations
Discussing his TV appearances, Jin said he wanted to stay connected with fans through any medium. “I wanted to hide my charm, but variety shows gave it all away,” he joked.
Wrapping up, Jin expressed a sincere message to BTS’s fandom, ARMY: “Just like how these songs moved me, I hope they echo within your hearts as well. Imagine yourself at a live concert when you listen—it will bring you closer to me.”
He added, “To all my ARMY around the world, I’ll be seeing you very soon. I love you.”
Later today at 5 PM KST, Jin will host ‘Jin Echo Comeback Live: PLAY TIME’ on the global fan platform Weverse, opening up a new chapter in his post-military comeback to music.
