Mr. Trot 3 Star Cheon Rok-dam Shines in Guerrilla Concert and Variety TV

Cheon Rok-dam, one of the most promising talents from Mr. Trot 3, is capturing attention with an impressive streak of performances and variety show appearances. Most recently featured on TV Chosun’s Mr. Trot 3 TOP7 Begins – Talk Concert Episode, Cheon showcased his versatility and growing star power.

The episode followed Rok-dam and his fellow TOP7 finalists on a training retreat in Gangneung. There, they opened the festivities with a surprise guerrilla concert at Samcheok Central Market. Despite the chilly weather, the venue was packed, and Cheon kicked off the live event with a powerful rendition of “Gangwon Arirang.” His energetic interaction with fans, along with a spirited performance of “Apartment,” transformed the marketplace into a lively K-Party.

As part of the variety training segment, veteran comedian Lim Kyung-gyu made a special appearance to coach the young stars. Cheon Rok-dam stood out with his sharp ad-libs and engaging reactions. During the karaoke segment—a personal favorite of Lim—Cheon delivered a fiery performance of “Mona Lisa” and handily surpassed the 90-point mark, earning big applause.

Continuing his journey into stardom, Cheon also participated in Mr. Trot Japan’s finale celebration. Alongside fellow artists Kim Yong-bin, Son Bin-a, and Choi Jae-myung, he wowed the Japanese audience with a show-stopping performance of “Memories of Glass.” His commanding vocals and fluid choreography reaffirmed the international appeal of traditional K-Trot music.

Having secured third place on Mr. Trot 3, Cheon Rok-dam has quickly evolved from a ‘trot rookie’ to a respected performer in the Korean music scene. With a unique color and sound, his career trajectory continues to rise. Fans can soon catch more of him during the Mr. Trot 3 National Tour Concert and on TV Chosun’s upcoming broadcast of Love Call Center on May 1 at 10 PM KST.

Cheon Rok-dam’s unstoppable momentum suggests a long and thriving future in the spotlight—and the growing global interest in K-Trot only adds fuel to that fire.
