NewJeans Celebrates 1,000 Days Since Debut Despite Ongoing Legal Dispute
Global K-pop girl group NewJeans marked a major milestone this week—1,000 days since their debut. Despite an ongoing legal battle with their agency and an official pause on group activities, the members took to their independently managed social media to celebrate with fans known as Bunnies.
On June 16, NewJeans posted a message that read, “Bunnies, it’s been 1,000 days since we met. Every day with you has been happiness. Every day was a new adventure. We love you.” The sentimental post was shared in both Korean and English, connecting with their global fanbase and showing appreciation even while facing internal conflicts.
Currently, the group is not promoting as a unit due to unresolved legal tensions with ADOR, their parent company. Late last year, the members attempted to terminate their exclusive contracts citing contract violations. In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit asserting the contracts remain binding and sought an injunction to block the members’ solo activities. A Seoul court sided with ADOR in a ruling issued on May 21.
NewJeans challenged the ruling and officially announced a temporary hiatus during a performance in Hong Kong on May 23. Despite the pause in group promotions, the 1,000-day anniversary message proves the members’ deep bond with their fandom remains unshaken.
Their resilience and dedication continue to draw admiration from fans and industry watchers alike, as the group navigates this turbulent chapter of their career.
