Zombie Daughter: A Hilariously Twisted Tale of Fatherly Love Hits Theaters This July

Jo Jung suk stars in Zombie Daughter a new Korean movie based on Naver Webtoon

One of Naver Webtoon’s most beloved dark comedies is shambling its way to the big screen this July. The live-action adaptation of ‘Zombie Daughter’ (Korean title: 좀비딸) has finally dropped its launch poster—teasing a comedic rollercoaster of fatherly devotion in a post-apocalyptic world.

Known for mixing sharp humor with heartfelt emotion, ‘Zombie Daughter’ centers around Jung-hwan, portrayed by versatile actor Jo Jung-suk, who enters a secret military training program to protect his not-so-ordinary daughter Sua. The catch? She’s the last remaining zombie on Earth.

The newly released poster hints at this oddball father-daughter dynamic. With a worried Jung-hwan trying frantically to hide Sua’s bloodshot eyes under a tightly drawn hoodie, the image strikes a perfect balance between suspense and absurdity. The poster’s tagline delivers a twisted punchline in true dark comedy fashion: “My kid doesn’t bite.”

Adapted from the hit webtoon by Lee Yoon-chang, the film adds to the growing trend of Korean webtoon-to-screen translations. Major excitement surrounds the project thanks to an A-list cast composed of Jo Jung-suk, Cho Yeo-jeong, Lee Jung-eun, and Yoon Kyung-ho. In addition, rising star Choi Yu-ri, widely recognized for her role in the sci-fi epic Alien alongside Kim Tae-ri, takes on the demanding role of Sua.

Unique, humorous, and touching, ‘Zombie Daughter’ promises a fresh cinematic experience. Whether Jung-hwan can master “zombie parenting” is anyone’s guess—but it’s sure to break your heart… and a few ribs from laughter.
