YUQI of (G)I-DLE Hits Triple Gold on QQ Music with ‘Radio (Dum-Dum)’

MIYEON and Jike Junyi rise on Chinese charts with Glow Up as Kpop gains global influence

YUQI, a member of the global K-pop group (G)I-DLE, has once again proven her solo power in the Chinese music market. Her digital single ‘Radio (Dum-Dum)’ recently achieved ‘Triple Gold’ status on QQ Music, China’s largest streaming platform, for surpassing 750,000 yuan in digital album sales. This accomplishment captures the massive support she’s receiving from Chinese fans.

In addition to the QQ Music milestone, ‘Radio (Dum-Dum)’ has ranked No.1 on Tencent Music Entertainment’s (TME) Korean Chart for six consecutive weeks. The song also remained in the Top 3 of QQ Music’s Weekly Digital Best Seller Singles chart during the same period, peaking at No. 3.

Written and composed by YUQI herself, ‘Radio (Dum-Dum)’ is a medium-tempo boom bap track that compares the emotional aftermath of a breakup to the static vulnerability of tuning into a radio station. The song was first revealed during the 2024 (G)I-DLE WORLD TOUR [iDOL] IN SEOUL, and was officially released on music platforms last month.

Meanwhile, MIYEON, another standout member of (G)I-DLE, is also making headlines with her single ‘Glow Up’, a collaborative effort with Chinese powerhouse vocalist Jike Junyi, known for her rise to fame through The Voice Of China Season 1.

‘Glow Up’ claimed No.1 on the Wangyiyun Music Korean Chart and quickly climbed to No.2 on both the trending and rising popularity charts. The song pairs upbeat melodies with uplifting lyrics, delivering a message of self-love and inner transformation with the phrase “Love the me in the mirror.”

Jike Junyi, who gained widespread attention after finishing in the top three of the first season of The Voice Of China, has since built a successful career in music and film. Her collaboration with MIYEON drew considerable buzz before the track’s release, validating the growing synergy between K-pop and Chinese pop culture.

Together, these achievements underscore K-pop’s ever-increasing influence in China, spotlighting the unique artistry of YUQI and MIYEON while broadening the global appeal of (G)I-DLE.
