Yoo Jae-suk’s New Rural Reality Show Debuts with 58K Viewers in Premiere

Kkangchoncation premieres with Yoo Jae-suk and friends taking spontaneous vacation in Korea

Popular South Korean entertainer Yoo Jae-suk has returned with a brand-new variety show, and it’s already generating a buzz. On June 24 at 9 AM KST, the YouTube channel DdeunDdeun released the premiere episode of Kkangchoncation, a rural vacation-themed spin-off of the popular long-form show Pinggego. This laid-back, unscripted format captured immediate interest with a strong real-time viewership of 58,000, signaling a successful new entry in Korea’s growing web variety landscape.

Set in the remote countryside of Uiseong, North Gyeongsang Province, the show follows four beloved entertainers—Yoo Jae-suk, Lee Dong-wook, Nam Chang-hee, and Lee Sang-yi—as they embrace a journey with no detailed plan. Despite a lack of itinerary, the group amusingly managed to complete three meals within just three hours, all while showcasing their relaxed, spontaneous chemistry, a hallmark of MBTI “P” personalities.

Throughout the episode, the cast connects with local residents, shares homemade moments, and even takes warm “family” photos, highlighting the show’s heartwarming and humorous tone. Kkangchoncation is not only a continuation of DdeunDdeun’s success after PungHyanggO, but also a significant step in expanding the channel’s footprint in the competitive long-form YouTube entertainment space.

New episodes of Kkangchoncation will be released every Saturday at 9 AM KST exclusively on DdeunDdeun’s YouTube channel.
