Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok Return with Powerhouse Chemistry in ‘Whenever Possible’ Season 3 Premiere

SBS variety Whenever Possible returns with Yoo Jae suk Yoo Yeon seok Cha Seung won and Gong Myung

The hit Korean variety show from Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS), ‘Whenever Possible’, returned with a bang for its third season, smashing previous ratings records. The premiere episode drew a peak viewership of 5.8%, with a metropolitan rating of 4.5%, nationwide at 4.1%, and 1.9% among the key 2049 demographic, according to Nielsen Korea. The show became the top-rated entertainment program during its timeslot and among Tuesday primetime shows.

The much-anticipated Season 3 opened with the return of beloved 2MCs, Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok. Joining them were actor Cha Seung-won and rising star Gong Myung, who infused the show with their unique ‘gap-time’ chemistry. The show’s premise centers around making the most of short, spontaneous breaks in everyday life by bringing joy and fortune to everyday people.

In Episode 21, the four stars visited a bakery magazine office, surprising the staff with an impromptu appearance. The team engaged in playful competitions such as a cap-flipping game, where Cha Seung-won declared himself “immune to competition pressure,” only to steal the show with his unexpectedly powerful performance. Game after game, the quartet proved their compatibility and charisma, achieving all three levels of their mission with infectious energy.

The next stop was a lunch break filled with laughter and nostalgia at Yoo Jae-suk and Cha Seung-won’s favorite eatery. The banter between the cast, particularly about who would foot the bill, showcased the effortless camaraderie that drives the program’s appeal.

Later, the group visited a wedding consultant agency to explore the evolving traditions among Korea’s MZ generation. Amid their bemusement at modern marriage customs, they took part in a unique partner game involving single shoes and shuttlecocks but wrapped up the challenge with mixed success. Still, Gong Myung earned praise for his quick thinking, likened by Yoo Jae-suk to “a real-life Zhuge Liang.”

Each segment highlighted not only the spontaneity and joy synonymous with the show’s concept but also the evolving team dynamics. Even when challenges ended in failure, the laughs were loud, and the chemistry undeniable. Cha Seung-won, who initially claimed little interest in competition, turned out to be one of the fiercest players, drawing both amusement and admiration.

This explosive Season 3 debut cements ‘Whenever Possible’ as one of Korea’s strongest variety contenders, breathing fresh energy into the weekday entertainment lineup. Fans can anticipate more laughter, surprise encounters, and heartwarming moments every Tuesday at 9 PM KST on SBS.
