Wi Ha-joon Makes a Triumphant Comeback in Tving’s ‘Shark: The Storm’

Wi Ha joon reprises his role as Jung Do hyun in Tvings Shark The Storm series premiere

International sensation Wi Ha-joon is making a powerful return in Tving’s latest action-packed original series ‘Shark: The Storm’, set to release on June 15. This marks his special appearance as Jung Do-hyun, a pivotal character reuniting with Cha Woo-sol in a dramatic twist that expands the ‘Shark’ universe.

Based on the legendary action webtoon, ‘Shark: The Beginning’ captivated audiences when it premiered in 2021 as Tving’s first original movie. Four years later, the franchise is back with a bang—this time as a six-part survival action series that promises even more intense drama and evolution of characters.

‘Shark: The Storm’ follows Cha Woo-sol as he overcomes personal battles and hones his martial arts skills after his release from prison. He prepares for a fierce showdown against the merciless villain Hyun Woo-yong (played by Lee Hyun-wook), offering viewers a raw and emotional journey of growth and revenge.

At the core of the anticipation lies the return of Jung Do-hyun (Wi Ha-joon), a once-renowned MMA champion who endured personal tragedy and ended up behind bars. Fans will recall his unforgettable role as Cha Woo-sol’s tough-love mentor in ‘Shark: The Beginning’—a role that brought about some of the film’s most iconic ‘bro-chemistry’ moments.

Newly released stills tease a reunion between Do-hyun and Woo-sol—separated by a glass screen in a prison visitation room, their shared smiles hint at an unbreakable bond. Yet, another still of Do-hyun’s cold expression hints that things may not be as they seem, amping up curiosity about the trauma or betrayal that might have caused this sudden chill.

With a darker narrative, higher stakes, and upgraded martial arts choreography, ‘Shark: The Storm’ promises an adrenaline-fueled ride with explosive action, emotional arcs, and cathartic storytelling.

All six episodes will be available for streaming exclusively on Tving starting June 15.
