VVS Shakes Up K-Pop with Bold Debut Mini Album ‘D.I.M.M’
Rising rookie girl group VVS is making major waves in the K-pop scene with the release of their much-anticipated debut mini album ‘D.I.M.M (Diamonds In My Mouth)‘, unveiled on the 19th.
Famed for their powerful concept and relentless momentum, VVS has been turning heads since their debut. Following the releases of their debut singles ‘TEA’ and ‘Fact$’ on May 22, and ‘Purrfect’ earlier this June, VVS continues their unstoppable streak with a mini album full of punch and attitude.
‘D.I.M.M‘ showcases a dynamic blend of hip-hop and R&B, delivered with unmatched intensity by members Brittney, Ilee, Rana, Jiu, and Liwon. The five-track mini album also features a special interlude with a surprise guest appearance, adding depth and flair to the project.
The title track, sharing the name ‘D.I.M.M‘, is a bold homage to the legendary hip-hop producer DJ Screw. The chilling beat, hypnotic flow, and gritty visuals in the music video set new standards for idol music, signaling a departure from traditional girl group formulas.
Choreography for the track was crafted in collaboration with dance powerhouses WeDam Boyz and Shimizu, resulting in a seamless fusion of top-tier dance performance and the group’s raw energy. The video and performance fully encapsulate the spirit of hip-hop, echoing street culture with a futuristic edge.
VVS marks the first girl group project under global label MZMC, headed by hitmaker Paul Bryan Thompson—the creative force behind tracks by Taeyeon, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT, and Kang Daniel. Dubbed the “five rare gems of K-pop,” the members of VVS are redefining the genre’s sound and aesthetic.
The mini album ‘D.I.M.M’ and its lead single and music video are now available on all major music streaming platforms and YouTube, inviting global listeners into VVS’s fierce, fresh world.
