Voice Actress Seo Yuri Speaks Out on Post-Divorce Challenges

Voice actress Seo Yuri recently shared her heartfelt thoughts following her divorce, asking the public to view her without prejudice. Despite personal challenges, she emphasized her continuous efforts in work, engaging in game voice recordings and appearances on terrestrial TV shows.

Seo revealed that debts incurred during the process of ending her past relationship remain unresolved. Particularly, a settlement amount promised by her ex-partner was due by the end of December last year but remains unpaid after he filed for bankruptcy, deepening her financial struggles. She clarified that she has no plans to seek personal bankruptcy or rehabilitation procedures.

“Although the debt wasn’t solely my own doing, I believe I bear part of the responsibility,” Seo stated. “I am committed to facing this head-on and doing my best to resolve it.” Seo also expressed her distress over speculative articles and reckless reporting, highlighting that such content harms not just her but also the people around her.

Seo concluded by saying, “Negative views and unfounded rumors are a heavy burden for me. In order not to disappoint those who continue to support me, I am making even greater efforts to stay diligent and positive.”

Seo Yuri married PD Choi Byung-gil in 2019 but separated after several years. The couple finalized their divorce proceedings in early June last year without having any children. Seo Yuri first debuted as part of the 1st voice actor cohort at Daewon Broadcasting in 2008 and rose to greater fame through her appearance on MBC TV’s popular entertainment show, My Little Television.
