1. Intro

Gained the fame as girl group MILK of SM Entertainment, but since the drop out of one member in 2005, she turned her career around to actress

She had quite long time with no significant notification as an actress, but since “또 오해영” in 2016 as a main role as “Oh Hye Yeong” she has grown into main actress material.

She said she noticed her clear identity as an actress since her appearance from ‘Lets Eat, Season 2’.

2.Background

She studied in choreography for 10 years through National Middle School of Traditional Music to National Highschool of Traditional Music, but she was scouted from road casting when she was 1st grade in highschool, so she had to move her school to Ap goo jeong Highschool for her activities, and it was first student case ever to move from National Highschool of Traditional music to others. 
 

3. Activity

 3-1.Singer 

She was trained by SM Entertainment for 1 year, after she was casted on the street. She debuted on 2001 as a Member of M.I.L.K which stands for ’Made In Lovely Kin’, it means ‘giving people dance and music made from beloved family’. Her debut song was  

When M.I.L.K was preparing for their 2nd album in 2003, one of the member dropped out without notice to the group and the management company, and also the CEO of SM Entertainment ran out to America to get away from embezzlement crime. So they couldn’t have been managed properly, which they had to disassemble their team. However, to pursue her dream, she continued her effort through Dong-duk university Practical Music study and spent a life as a normal individual. 

Then, on 2005, by the offer of entertainment company, she starts her acting life through musical ‘Sound of Music’ with role of ‘Rizzle’, the oldest daughter role of General Trap. 

Before she started her life as an actress, she also appeared from animation OST or SMTOWN eidted albums as a solo vocalist. She was also part of SNSD debut team, but she didn't make it till the end. 

 3-2.Life as an actress 

She moved to DS Entertainment and switched her career to professional actress, starting from 2009 movie’Shame’ and ‘Tree of reminiscence’ by Seo Yeong eun 

On 2010, she performed with out management company association, and moved to Jump Entertainment on 2011. She started to gain recognition as “Dal” of MBC Drama ‘Jjak Pae’, which had a sub main role, which helped her receiving the ‘Rookie of the Year Award’.

Later on April 2015, with tvN Drama, ‘Lets Eat, Season2’ she have earned her reputation and fame as sympathetic character ‘Baek Sooji’. Even she usually eats slow to enjoy the tastes, she had to eat fast to act the role, and had to struggle stomachache. But also, her detailed idea on acting ‘Mukbang’ scene, many believes it made her more attractive to the public and brought lots of popularity by it. Her looks also advanced to another level. Next to this impact, she established her fame through ‘Running Man’, ‘Taxi’ and many other shows and advertisements. 

Then in 2016, tvN Drama, ‘Again Oh Hye yeong’, she reached her prime as a main character ‘Oh Hye yeong’. In 2017 SBS Drama ‘Temperature of Love’ she also took the main role, which also led her to Award winning actress.
