USPEER: WM Entertainment’s First Girl Group in a Decade Sets the Stage for a Bold Debut
Making a striking entrance into the K-pop scene, rookie girl group USPEER has captured attention even before their official debut. Introduced by WM Entertainment for the first time in a decade, the team appears in the latest June issue of fashion and entertainment magazine @star1, offering fans an intimate look at their journey from trainees to soon-to-be idols.
During the pictorial and exclusive interview, the members of USPEER shared honest insights into their emotions and ambition ahead of debut. Daon expressed, “It still doesn’t feel real, but I’m preparing hard for the big day.” Fellow member Seoyu added, “Now that our team has formed and our debut is nearing, I feel incredibly excited and motivated to work harder.”
Member Yeowon opened up about the pressure: “There’s some burden in wanting to show the best version of myself to fans, but I’m pushing ahead with my teammates, taking it one step at a time.”
The group’s unique name, USPEER, cleverly fuses “US” and “SPEER” (meaning “to ask”), symbolizing a pursuit to explore the essence of the world they’ll shape together. True to that vision, they’ve begun connecting with fans early through their pre-debut reality series USPEER Run Up!
Member Sian commented, “I always knew being an idol meant receiving lots of love and attention, but now that I’m experiencing it, I want to try even harder.” She added that reading fans’ comments provides daily motivation. Yeowon shared similar sentiments, saying, “Every supportive comment empowers me, and I see the group getting stronger with each episode.”
Hints about their debut album were also revealed. Yeowon described it as “energetic,” while Daon referred to it as “a declaration of entry into the world,” citing its fast-paced, sporty vibe.
Each member has their sights set high. “Once we debut, I believe we’re true professionals,” said Yeowon. “We want to energize our fans and display our group synergy.” Sian pointed to OH MY GIRL as their role models, explaining, “We want to follow in the footsteps of our WM seniors who always present stunning performances.”
Lastly, Roa expressed heartfelt appreciation: “Even before debut, many people are cheering us on. I feel so grateful and want to repay that support with amazing performances.”
