tvN’s ‘Save Me’ Teases a Hilariously Tipsy Family Drama

tvN’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday K-drama ‘Save Me’ (Korean title: 금주를 부탁해) has released a teaser video and poster hinting at the chaotic journey of one family’s attempt to sober up — with laugh-out-loud results.

Centered around Han Geum-joo, her first love Seo Ui-joon, and her quirky family set in the picturesque village of Bocheon, the teaser gives viewers a sneak peek into their not-so-dry dinner party. Despite the serene setting with blue skies and Bocheon Lake, the so-called mission to remain sober quickly turns into a comically covert operation to sneak in drinks — grandfather-style.

As Han Jeong-soo slyly pours beer disguisedly labeled as barley tea for his daughter Han Hyun-joo, the two share a knowing glance and continue sipping as if nothing happened. Meanwhile, Han Geum-joo‘s cheeks are flushed red — a telling sign of the alcohol already taking its toll — as she yells, “Action!” and stumbles toward her family. All the while, mother Kim Gwang-ok and Seo Ui-joon remain blissfully (or perhaps willfully) oblivious to the behind-the-scenes drinking spree.

The family portrait becomes even more telling — and hilarious — in the poster. While Kim Gwang-ok and Seo Ui-joon strike their poses with perfect composure, the rest of the family exudes the chaos of an alcohol-fueled frenzy. Rosy cheeks, loose posture, and glazed-over eyes reveal it all: sobriety is nowhere in sight.

Through both the teaser and poster, ‘Save Me’ paints a playful juxtaposition between appearance and reality, offering a witty commentary on society’s struggle to maintain composure in the face of temptation. It’s not just a drama — it’s a full-on comedic expedition into what it really means to “stay sober.”

The show follows the story of Han Geum-joo, a self-proclaimed ‘reasonable drinker,’ whose life takes an unexpected turn when she reunites with her alcohol-averse first love Seo Ui-joon. This chance meeting ignites her first real attempt to quit drinking — setting the stage for a rollercoaster of romance, chaos, and sobering truths.

‘Save Me’ premieres May 12 at 8:50 PM KST on tvN.
