tvN’s ‘Let’s Have a Drink’ Unveils Resonance’s New Persona as a Gentle Yet Resolute Doctor

South Korean actor Resonance returns to the small screen with a heartfelt transformation in the upcoming tvN drama Let’s Have a Drink, premiering May 12 at 8:50 PM KST. Known for his charismatic and approachable demeanor, the actor takes on the role of Seo Eui-joon, a psychiatrist who abruptly leaves a prestigious university hospital in Seoul to become the director of a rural health center in his hometown, Bocheon Village.

Let’s Have a Drink paints the poignant tale of a woman, who prides herself on being a responsible drinker, reuniting with her first love—who now fervently abstains from alcohol. As they navigate their rekindled feelings, she embarks on her first-ever journey of sobriety in what’s described as a ‘sober romance drama.’

Resonance embodies Seo Eui-joon as a well-rounded individual—not only attractive, smart, and likable but also firm in his anti-alcohol stance. He’s affectionate and humorous with everyone around him, yet draws a clear line when it comes to alcohol, making him the perfect anchor for the female lead Han Geum-joo’s wavering sobriety.

Commenting on his decision to join the drama, Resonance stated, “I was drawn to the project by the compelling script and the opportunity to work with director Jang Yoo-jung and screenwriter Myung Soo-hyun. I’m confident viewers will see a new side of me through Seo Eui-joon.”

“He’s charming, easygoing, and beloved by the townspeople,” he explained about his character. “On the surface, he’s cheerful and kind, but he harbors emotional wounds that add depth to his persona.”

As filming progressed, Resonance noted that he began to adopt some of Seo Eui-joon’s warm, sociable traits, which helped enhance his camaraderie with fellow actors and the production team. “It allowed me to enjoy filming even more,” he added.

Driven to portray a credible and grounded character, Resonance paid special attention to the doctor’s speech and physical demeanor, ensuring a performance that communicates trust and subtle strength.
