The Surprising Story of Forgetfulness: Legendary Summer Queens Reunite
Narsha’s encounter with Kim Wan-sun’s memory lapse leaves the cast in stitches.
A Cool Breeze with the ‘Summer Queens’
On the latest episode of the popular Korean variety show, Knowing Bros, viewers were treated to a refreshing summer special featuring some of the industry’s most iconic female artists. Kim Wan-sun, often dubbed as the original ‘Summer Queen’, was joined by fellow stars Narsha, Lee Chae-yeon, and Moon Chanel from the group Fifty Fifty. Their lively banter brought a fresh and engaging energy to the hot summer night.
Narsha & Kim Wan-sun’s Nostalgic Connection
During the show, Narsha nostalgically recalled how she first crossed paths with Kim Wan-sun 12 years ago. As she recounted, Narsha had been working on her first short film, “Bug” (2013), when Kim Wan-sun’s music unexpectedly became a crucial part of her project.
> “I was in need of an ending song for my short film,” said Narsha enthusiastically. “Funnily enough, I stumbled upon Wan-sun’s song ‘Benjamin’, and it felt perfect. I was thrilled when she graciously agreed to let me use it after I reached out.”
Yet, in a surprising twist, Kim Wan-sun admitted on air that she didn’t remember the exchange. “I have no recollection of that,” she laughed, sparking laughter from the audience and proving just how unpredictable the human memory can be.
Kim Wan-sun’s Witty Memory Lapse
Kim’s candor and charm shone through as she confessed, “When the producers mentioned Narsha had directed, I responded, ‘Wow, that’s awesome.’ I heard about my song being featured but didn’t connect the dots at all.”
Despite the lapse in memory, Kim Wan-sun’s generosity wasn’t lost on Narsha, who remained grateful for her support over the years. “The lyrics of ‘Benjamin’ were precious,” Narsha reflected. “I hoped to remake it someday, and she was so encouraging, yet she just forgot,” she added with amusement.
Reflections on an Unforgettable Episode
The episode was a reminder of the warm camaraderie that exists between artists, bridging the gaps between generations and showing the viewers that even legends have relatable moments of forgetfulness.
