Nancy Meyers The Intern to get a Korean remake possibly starring Han Sohee and Choi Minsik

The beloved 2015 Hollywood film The Intern, directed by Nancy Meyers, is reportedly getting a Korean remake—and fans are buzzing over the potential casting of top-tier actors Han So-hee and Choi Min-sik.

On July 9, 9ato Entertainment confirmed in an interview that rising star Han So-hee has received an offer to star in the upcoming remake and is currently reviewing the role. Han is reportedly being considered for the role of Jules, originally played by Anne Hathaway—a young, ambitious CEO of a fast-growing fashion startup.

Veteran actor Choi Min-sik is also rumored to be in talks to take on the role of Ben, portrayed by Robert De Niro in the original—a 70-year-old intern who joins Jules’ company and forms an unlikely yet heartwarming bond with her, bridging their generational gap.

If the casting is finalized, the movie promises a refreshing blend of youthful energy and seasoned charisma. It would also mark an exciting new chapter in Han So-hee’s acting career, portraying a powerful and modern female CEO while showcasing chemistry with Choi Min-sik, one of Korea’s most respected actors.

The original The Intern was lauded for its heartwarming dialogue and poignant message about mentorship, aging, and intergenerational dynamics. The Korean adaptation is expected to put a local twist on these themes, tailored to today’s modern workforce and social culture in South Korea.

Fans of both Han and Choi are eagerly awaiting official confirmation, as the film has the potential to become one of the most talked-about remakes in recent years.
