Following eight months of intense competition through the mega global project Debut’s Plan, the group’s debut was confirmed via the live-streamed EP.9 Final Debut LIVE aired on the ‘New Kids on the Starship’ YouTube channel on May 4. The event attracted over 2,400 in-person fans along with countless global viewers expressing fervent anticipation.

Members Kim Min-jae, Jang Yong-hoon, Baek Jun-hyuk, and Park Won-bin earned top praise from both fans and the Starship executive board for their all-around talents in vocals, dance, rap, stage expression, and fan interaction. These four were dubbed the group’s core “all-rounders.” Following them, Chu Yoo-chan (main vocalist), Jung Se-min (Fan SAVE), Park Joon-hwan (Board SAVE), and Park Sung-hyun (Board pick) completed the final lineup.

Kim Min-jae, the group’s first-place debut member, trained for 3 years and 5 months prior to joining Debut’s Plan. Known for his commanding presence and elite skill set, he stood out from the start by leading his team to victory in the Weak Position Evaluation and ranking first overall. He continued to shine in the Semi-Final LIVE, earning consistent support from both fans and the board alike.

Jang Yong-hoon ranked second and brought 2 years and 4 months of training experience, strong visuals, and leadership capabilities to the group. His team’s consistent top rankings reaffirmed his dependable skillset and genuine stage charisma. Baek Jun-hyuk, ranking third, also excelled as an ‘all-rounder’ and impressed with his acting skills in the Expression Evaluation stages, drawing from his past as a child actor.

Fourth member Park Won-bin, with over 4 years of training, demonstrated dominance in performing arts and gained recognition for his impactful role in the Starship-produced drama ImPerfect Game. Chu Yoo-chan, the fifth member, returned to Starship after a break and captivated fans worldwide with strong vocals and attractive visuals, securing his spot through powerful performances like DAY6’s hit “You Were Beautiful.”

Jung Se-min, the global fan favorite, topped fan voting consistently throughout the three rounds and secured a spot via the Fan SAVE. He was often lauded for his soul-stirring gaze and fast-paced development across singing and dance. Park Joon-hwan, with only 5 months of training, impressed the board with his rapid growth and physicality honed from his youth as a baseball player.

The final spot in IDID went to Park Sung-hyun, a 3-year-9-month trainee with verified prowess in every idol skill category. His longstanding chemistry with Baek Jun-hyuk has fans excited for onstage synergy in the upcoming era.

Meaning “I Did” or “I Do It” – a declaration of determination to achieve through effort – IDID is set to debut later this year. With an unmatched mix of talent, charisma, and drive, the group is poised to redefine the future of K-pop, one beat at a time.
