SPICA and Lee Hyori Reunite a Decade Later

In a heartwarming moment that delighted K-pop fans worldwide, the iconic girl group SPICA reunited with their mentor and superstar Lee Hyori after 10 years. The emotional gathering was documented on SPICA member Yang Ji-won’s Instagram, where she shared a touching photo captioned, “The star in my heart, Hyori unni. With Bo-yoon unni, SPICA, wonderful and thankful people.”

The photo features Lee Hyori alongside SPICA’s Yang Ji-won, Kim Bo-hyung, and Kim Boa, as well as Jung Bo-yoon, the representative of London Pride and stylist. Kim Bo-hyung also posted the same photo with the heartfelt message, “Thank you and love you, unnies,” on her Instagram. SPICA’s leader Kim Boa captured attention with a video reminiscing about the past, showing Lee Hyori singing and sharing laughs with the members, reminding fans of the special bond they share.

This long-awaited reunion comes after Lee Hyori recently expressed her longing for SPICA on social media, posting their album cover and writing, “Suddenly miss them.” She later updated fans with, “Lovely SPICA. Cup song after 10 years,” confirming that the group had finally met after a decade apart.

SPICA, who debuted on January 10, 2012, was known as Lee Hyori’s protégé girl group and appeared on the reality variety show ‘Lee Hyori’s X Unnie.’ Hyori herself played a significant role in producing SPICA, fostering a bond that resonated with fans throughout the years. Although their time as a group was brief—they disbanded in 2017 after five years—their influence and connection remain undeniable.

The reunion was a poignant reminder of K-pop’s enduring friendships and the legacy of artists like SPICA and Lee Hyori. Fans continue to express their love and nostalgia, celebrating the moments that define the vibrant world of Korean pop music.
