South Korea’s Top Celebrity Brains Unite for ‘Brain Academy’

Celebrity minds come together for Channel As highlevel quiz show Brain Academy

In an unprecedented assembly of South Korea’s brightest celebrities, Channel A launches a brand new high-tier quiz show, Brain Academy, set to premiere at the end of May. Hosted by the multilingual intellectual Jun Hyun-moo from Yonsei University, the show brings together an all-star cast of six ‘entertainment brains’ who will tackle complex questions crafted by the nation’s top scholars.

Joining Jun on this brain-powered journey are actor Ha Seok-jin, the winner of Netflix’s The Devil’s Plan and a Hanyang University mechanical engineering graduate; fellow Hanyang alumnus Lee Sang-yeob, who boasts a level 1 certification in the Korean History Competency Test; and science prodigy Yoon So-hee, a KAIST bioengineering graduate and early graduate of a science high school.

Adding to the intellectual star power, comedian Hwang Je-sung proves his academic prowess with top marks in math and a background from Sungkyunkwan University. Rounding out the team is Orbit (Gwedo), South Korea’s #1 science communicator with over 1.29 million subscribers, who promises to bring scientific insights and witty commentary as the team’s science brain.

Each week, a field-specific “Master” will present layered quizzes designed to challenge even the sharpest minds. As the competition unfolds, viewers will not only enjoy the light-hearted friendship and team chemistry among the cast but also engage in deep learning, as complex knowledge is made entertaining and accessible.

According to the production team, “This show marks a ‘renaissance of quiz shows,’ where everyone from kids to adults can enjoy and learn. With top-tier questions delivered by Korea’s foremost scholars, spectators will naturally experience deep intellectual stimulation.”

Channel A’s Brain Academy—a delightful fusion of knowledge, humor, and celebrity intellect—is scheduled to premiere at the end of this May. Don’t miss the launch of what promises to be the most educationally entertaining journey on Korean television.
