SIKKOO, AOMG’s First Co-Ed Hip-Hop Group, Drops Debut EP ‘GAN (間)’
South Korea’s hip-hop powerhouse Above Ordinary Music Group (AOMG) is introducing its newest sensation, co-ed group SIKKOO, with the release of their debut EP titled ‘GAN (間)’ on June 29 at 6 PM KST. Together with the album launch, SIKKOO will host their first-ever showcase at Ilji Art Hall in Gangnam, Seoul, giving fans an exclusive preview of what’s to come.
This album marks SIKKOO’s official debut under the global hip-hop label AOMG, following their electrifying entrance earlier this year. Comprised of members Yoshi, 200 (Ibaek), and Koo Minjae, SIKKOO delivers a rich sonic journey that captures the individual distinctiveness of each artist while unveiling their collective direction in the Korean and global music market.
A teaser posted on June 22 through AOMG’s official social media channels turned heads with its playful supermarket sale flyer concept. It revealed quirky track titles such as ‘Bangatgan’, ‘Magugan’, ‘Daejanggan’, and ‘Pujutgan’, each hinting at the group’s grounded yet eccentric identity rooted in Korean culture.
AOMG further introduced the trio with captivating taglines: “Yoshi, a man whose life feels like a 365/24 stable,” “200, the hammer obsessed with wrecking your world,” and “Koo, who demolishes a bowl of rice in seconds.” These witty bios reflect the members’ intense personas and unique flavors.
SIKKOO doesn’t stick to one genre. Their debut EP spans across hip-hop, R&B, classical & rock, house, reggae, jazz, and even elements of K-pop—offering a vivid representation of South Korean multicultural music identity. This musical fusion, paired with a vintage Korean-inspired backdrop and Yoshi’s first concept photo, creates an evocative image of what they call ‘domestic hip-hop’—a fresh term infusing tradition with trend.
As AOMG’s flagship act for its 2024 rebranding initiative dubbed “2.0 Project,” SIKKOO is poised to redefine hip-hop aesthetics. Having already garnered attention with their viral video “TEAM TOMODACHI (KR Remix),” which surpassed 10 million views, expectations for the group’s trajectory are sky-high.
With their debut EP ‘GAN (間)’, SIKKOO is set to ignite the global stage, showcasing music that isn’t just heard but felt across cultures. All tracks will be available across major music streaming platforms starting June 29.
