K-pop star Seungkwan from Seventeen is set to lend his voice as a guest commentator at the upcoming KYK Invitational 2025, a high-profile volleyball event celebrating the retirement of South Korean legend Kim Yeon-koung. The monumental match, personally organized by Kim, will take place on August 17 and 18 at the Samsan World Gymnasium in Incheon.

The two-day event brings together top-tier players from around the world. On August 17, the Korea Women’s National Volleyball Team will face off against the World All-Stars Team. On the following day, invited players will form mixed teams for a special showcase match. Both matches will be broadcast live via tvN, tvN Sports, and the streaming platform TVING.

Seungkwan, widely known for his love of volleyball, expressed his excitement about this unique collaboration. “I’ve been a fan of Kim Yeon-koung since I was young. It’s an incredible honor to be part of such a meaningful occasion,” he shared. “I’m committed to preparing thoroughly to ensure the players and fans have an unforgettable experience.”

The KYK Invitational 2025 also promises vibrant festivities, including celebratory performances and preview shows alongside the main matches. This final appearance marks the conclusion of Kim Yeon-koung’s legendary playing career, during which she became the only player to win MVP in both her rookie and final seasons—a true ‘Last Dance’ in volleyball history.
