Seventeen Lights Up the Han River: A 10th Anniversary K-Pop Spectacle

Kpop group Seventeen performs live on Jamsu Bridge for their 10th anniversary celebration

On June 25, South Korea’s National Representative Idol Seventeen marked its 10th debut anniversary with a groundbreaking live concert at Jamsu Bridge over the Han River — a first for any K-pop group.

The one-hour performance attracted an estimated 100,000 fans, known as Carats, who gathered from the early morning across Banpo Hangang Park and surrounding areas. The event was also broadcasted live via large LED screens and on Seoul’s official YouTube channel, allowing global fans to tune in through Weverse, Seventeen’s global fan platform.

The concert kicked off at 7:30 PM with a dazzling neon-colored fountain show and a fiery live performance of “THUNDER,” the lead track from Seventeen’s 10th anniversary full-length album HAPPY BURSTDAY. The group performed 12 songs in total, including the premiere of the emotional new single “HBD.”

Channeling rockstar charisma, Seventeen hit the stage with standing mics, lasers, fireworks, and synchronized dance routines, elevating the vibe to electric heights. Behind them, the moonlight rainbow fountain illuminated the river in Seventeen’s signature Rose Quartz and Serenity hues, while a floating firework show lit up the Han River sky in one of the most monumental public K-pop spectacles in recent history.

This unforgettable night was part of a larger city-wide festival coordinated with Seoul City. Major landmarks including Sebitseom, Wonhyo Bridge, World Cup Bridge, and Hangang Bridge showcased themed lighting installations in homage to the group. Additionally, the headquarters of Seventeen’s label HYBE in Yongsan featured a large-scale media wrap reading, “SEVENTEEN WILL CHALLENGE ETERNITY,” reflecting the group’s continual rise in global popularity.

Since their 2015 debut, Seventeen has set record-breaking physical album sales year after year, securing their legacy as “Kings of Albums.” Their momentum remains unmatched, with their 10-year milestone only reinforcing their place at the top of the K-pop pantheon.
