SEVENTEEN Takes the Lead in Japan’s Music Scene
On May 29th, according to Pledis Entertainment under HYBE Music, SEVENTEEN’s fifth studio album, ‘HAPPY BURSTDAY’, claimed the top spot on Oricon’s latest ‘Daily Album Ranking’ dated May 27th.
Following its release, the album soared to number one on Japan’s LINE MUSIC ‘Album Top 100’ real-time chart and maintained its leading position on the daily chart dated May 27th. Additionally, the album achieved top positions on both the iTunes ‘Top Albums’ chart and the Apple Music ‘Top Albums’ chart.
Record-breaking Sales and International Acclaim
The album ‘HAPPY BURSTDAY’ continues to ride the wave of success globally. It recorded sales nearing 2.27 million copies on its release day, while clinching the first and second spots on the ‘Worldwide iTunes Album’ and ‘European iTunes Album’ charts, respectively.
The title track ‘THUNDER’ reached number one on Melon’s ‘Top 100′ and Bugs’ real-time chart, maintaining high positions. Upon its release, ‘THUNDER’ entered the ‘Worldwide iTunes Song’ ranking at number seven and climbed to number two by the next day, May 28th. The music video, released on HYBE Labels’ YouTube channel, became a trending hit across various countries, including South Korea, Japan, Canada, Germany, and the UK, earning the number one spot on YouTube Music Video Trending Worldwide.
SEVENTEEN’s Media Appearances and Unique Content
To further capture public interest, SEVENTEEN members appeared on various entertainment shows. THE 8 and VERNON showcased their charming personalities on web shows ‘Neighborhood Star K Show’ and ‘Cellphone KODE’. On ‘Nan Young Suk’s Wagle Wagle’, all 12 members demonstrated their impeccable teamwork.
Additionally, ‘GOING SEVENTEEN’, the group’s self-produced content, released a comeback special that quickly became a hit. In this mockumentary episode, the members recreated their early days in variety shows, bringing laughter to the audience. The subsequent ‘RINGS CEREMONY’ video left fans touched with the members’ heartfelt wish to shine forever.
