Revealing the Ghost King in SBS Drama

In a captivating turn of events on 30th September, the mystery of the ghost king Palcheogui was finally unraveled in the SBS drama ‘Earthen Palace’. The actor behind the chilling mask of Palcheogui is none other than Seo Do-young, renowned for his ‘first love’ visuals.

Backstory of Palcheogui

Palcheogui was originally known as Cheon Geum-hwi, a Royal Guards Command officer over a century ago. Betrayed and sacrificing his comrades so the king could escape, he transformed into a vengeful spirit.

Seo Do-young’s Transformative Process

Model-turned-actor Seo Do-young used Instagram Live post-show to reveal the rigorous process of transforming into Palcheogui. Wearing the mask, Seo confessed, “Is it suitable to greet everyone like this at night?”

Seo explained that the challenge was immense, requiring four make-up artists and over three hours each time to get into character. He notably donned a 30kg armor for more authenticity, expressing, “Even sitting still was exhausting.”

The Global Fan Response

Despite these challenges, fans worldwide, from Japan to Sri Lanka, showered him with praise during the broadcast.
