Rookie Season 3 Finale Teases Intense Winter Training and Farewell Party

Watch the intense winter training and emotional departure of Choi Ilgu in Rookie Season 3 finale

The final episode of the Genie TV original drama ‘Rookie Season 3’ is set to deliver an adrenaline-pumping conclusion. Airing on June 29 via ENA channel and streaming exclusively on KT Genie TV and TVING, the episode promises an unexpected twist as the young recruits are suddenly tossed into winter combat training.

The last episode showcased heroic choices as the soldiers of Shinhwa Unit stood up bravely for one another. Notably, Company Commander Cho Baek-ho (played by Oh Dae-hwan) willingly took the fall and appeared alone before the disciplinary committee to protect his men after a rookie’s mistake caused injury during training.

This noble act wasn’t unnoticed. The soldiers submitted letters in support of Cho, bringing emotional resonance to the drama. However, the tension ramps up with mystery looming around the sudden disappearance of Jeon Se-gye (Kim Dong-jun).

Newly released stills highlight the “Rookiez” enduring intense winter drills in snow-covered mountains, even battling shirtless in a high-stakes game of horseback wrestling. The motivation? A coveted 14-day vacation granted to the winners. Viewers are left wondering whether it’ll be the seasoned Choi Il-gu (Nam Tae-woo) or the rising rookie Jeon Se-gye who comes out on top.

Another emotional moment comes as Choi Il-gu prepares for discharge. A delightful party scene is set with a feast and festive vibe. The celebration includes performances by fellow soldiers—rookie Moon Bit-nari, global star Jeon Se-gye, and Private Sung Yoon-mo—adding to the heartwarming farewell atmosphere.

The production team commented, “Choi Il-gu’s final moments in the first living quarters, alongside Park Min-seok and fellow rookies, will be memorable. We promise to deliver more of the signature humor and camaraderie that defines ‘Rookie’ until the very end.”

The grand finale will air on ENA channel at 10 PM on June 29, with a free VOD release on KT Genie TV. It will also be available on OTT platform TVING.
