VVUP Wins the Rising Star Award
The talented rookie girl group VVUP has been announced as the winner of the ‘Rising Star’ category at the Seoul Music Awards. Announced by the organizing committee on the 3rd, VVUP sealed their victory in the final vote that closed at midnight on the 1st. They will grace the stage at the 34th Seoul Music Awards on January 21st, held at the Inspire Arena in Incheon.

The Rising Star Category
Introduced this year, the ‘Rising Star’ category aims to provide a stage opportunity for idol groups within three years of debut, specifically those debuting between January 2022 and December 2024. Sixty teams competed fiercely, and through preliminaries and finals, VVUP topped with massive fan support.
Who is VVUP?
VVUP is a multinational girl group consisting of Suyeon, Jiyoon (South Korea), Kim (Indonesia), and Pan (Thailand). They have gained attention for their global-targeted performances and distinctive music. The debut single, ‘Locked On,’ entered the iTunes K-POP charts in the US and UK, proving their potential. They have maintained strong popularity in Indonesia and Thailand, consistently staying at the top during the voting period, showcasing their potential as ‘Rising Stars.’
Along with the opportunity to perform on the main stage, VVUP will also receive an offline promotion where congratulatory messages will be displayed on the front window of the Photoism Colored Hongdae Branch.

The Seoul Music Awards this year is particularly significant as it marks the 40th anniversary of Sports Seoul. A star-studded lineup including groups like BTOB, (G)I-DLE, and many more have been unveiled. The anticipation increases as more award presenters and the final MC, to be announced on the 6th, add to the excitement.
