Rising Korean Star Jo Joon-young Throws First Pitch at KBO Game

Korean actor Jo Joon young debuts on mound at SSG Landers and Samsung Lions baseball game

South Korean actor Jo Joon-young took the mound for the very first time in his life at a major professional baseball game — and fans can’t stop talking about it.

On June 29, during a highly anticipated match between the SSG Landers and Samsung Lions at Incheon SSG Landers Field in the ongoing 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League, Jo participated in a ceremonial first pitch event — much to the delight of the crowd.

Jo confidently delivered a clean pitch that drew massive cheers from the stands. “It was my first time throwing the first pitch in front of such a large audience, so I was very nervous,” Jo said. “But it was a unique and exciting experience. I’m truly thankful to the SSG Landers and everyone who made this possible. I hope to continue seeing thrilling games in the future.”

The actor also served a serious style statement. Matching a personalized baseball jersey emblazoned with his name to crisp denim jeans, Jo Joon-young embodied the perfect baseball stadium casual look. His radiant visuals, enthusiastic expressions, and focused immersion in the game added extra energy to the arena.

Having now checked the first pitch experience off his bucket list, Jo continues to expand his reach in the entertainment world. Currently starring in MBC’s popular Fri-Sat Drama ‘Bunny and the Guys’, Jo has previously featured in KBS Joy’s Mon-Tue Drama ‘Dear.M’, TVING original ‘Class 2 Lee Hee-soo’, and the recently concluded ‘Heavenly’. With each role showcasing different charms, Jo Joon-young is steadily carving his path as a versatile talent rising in the South Korean entertainment scene.
