Rising K-pop Group MEOVV Roars Back with Bold Energy in Pre-Release Single ‘HANDS UP’

MEOVV returns with Hands Up an energetic pre release single from upcoming album My Eyes Open VVIDE

K-pop’s newest sensation, MEOVV — featuring members Furry, Kwon Geun, Anna, Narin, and Ella — is making a bold return. On June 28 at 6 PM KST, the group will pre-release their dynamic new single ‘HANDS UP’, ahead of their debut EP ‘MY EYES OPEN VVIDE’, set to drop on May 12.

Since their 2024 debut, MEOVV has stood out with powerful performance skills uncharacteristic of rookies, quickly leading the 5th generation of K-pop girl groups. In an engaging interview, the members shared insights into their new release and evolving artistry.

Finding Their Voice with ‘HANDS UP’

Described as an irresistibly catchy anthem infused with Brazilian beats, ‘HANDS UP’ captures MEOVV’s vibrancy and ambition to break boundaries. Member Anna says, “It’s the kind of song you want to keep humming, whether you’re tired or on the move.” Ella adds, “Beyond the rhythm, the song represents forging new paths and tearing down limits.”

From Stage Fright to Stage Command

Reflecting on their growth, Kwon Geun noted, “At debut, everything felt unfamiliar, but now we’re learning to connect more naturally with cameras and fans.” Member Narin emphasized the deepening responsibility they feel towards their performances, aiming to deliver a stronger message through music and movement.

Performance Highlights

Furry shared that the group focused on creating a playful and engaging performance, emphasizing crowd interaction. A signature choreography move — a double-handed body-roll — will be a standout moment during promotions. Meanwhile, Narin revealed that the choreography process involved direct input from members, ensuring an authentic MEOVV spirit shines through.

Behind the Scenes

From flying stunts with harnesses to late-night grueling yet laugh-filled music video shoots, the group faces challenges with kinship and humor. Each moment, Narin says, only solidified their bond and spread their vibrant energy.

What’s Next for MEOVV?

Having showcased versatility from minimalistic ‘MEOW’ to emotional ‘TOXIC’ and glamorous ‘BODY,’ MEOVV attributes their adaptability to a training environment that encouraged trying various genres. Looking ahead, Narin hopes the group will be known as “an unpredictable, always-anticipated team”.

Finally, MEOVV expresses their heartfelt appreciation to Pawmpawm (their official fandom), promising more frequent interactions and thrilling performances in 2025 and beyond. As the summer heats up, MEOVV invites everyone to join them — hands up high — in a celebration of energy, growth, and music.
