Kyubin Captivates Japan with Pre-Debut Performance

Asia’s fast-rising singer-songwriter Kyubin, under Liveworks Company, left an indelible mark on the Japanese music scene by performing at the prestigious Nagaoka Kome Festival 2025 on May 24 in Niigata, Japan. Even before her official Japanese debut, Kyubin’s appearance electrified thousands of music fans.

The Only Korean Artist Among Japan’s Elite

In a stellar lineup featuring some of Japan’s most iconic artists, Kyubin was the sole Korean act invited to the festival, taking the stage with a dynamic full-band live show. She delivered six powerful performances, opening with her debut hit “Really Like You” and premiering a new arrangement of “LIKE U 100” with an exclusive electric guitar solo just for the Japanese audience.

Exclusive Live Performances and New Collaborations

Kyubin unveiled a live rendition of “Twilight,” featured in the Nakomori Akina tribute album ‘Meikyō’ released on May 1, to the enthusiastic applause of local fans. She then delivered vibrant live versions of “Evergreen” (from her debut mini-album ‘Flowering’), “Special”—the final entry in a three-song collaboration project written, composed, and featuring Kim Jong Wan of NELL—and her acclaimed 2023 single “Satellite.” Backed by a leading Japanese band session, Kyubin’s stage mesmerized the festival with flawless vocals and artistry.

Bonds with Fans and Future Ambitions

After a stellar set, Kyubin seamlessly interacted with the audience in Japanese, fostering a close connection with fans. The festival concluded with a dazzling fireworks display, which Kyubin enjoyed with the crowd. Sharing her feelings on social media, she said, “I was worried about the rain, but stepping onto the stage to such a packed venue was overwhelming and unforgettable. The sound and energy with the legendary band were incredible. I hope to meet you more often and connect even more closely in the future!”

Onward to a Global Stage

Following a successful debut mini-album ‘Flowering’ released in February, Kyubin is actively making festival rounds at major Korean universities, including Hansei University (May 23), Yeungnam University (May 26), and Busan University of Foreign Studies (May 28). Looking ahead, Kyubin is set to hold fan concerts in Taipei and Hong Kong, prepare a new single for release in Korea this June, and make an official debut in Japan later this year in partnership with a major Japanese music label. Kyubin’s momentum marks her as an artist to watch on the Asian—and global—stage.
