Rise Gains Global Buzz with Retro-Inspired ‘Fly Up’ Stage Performances
South Korean boy band Rise is taking over both screens and stages this week with a spectacular series of performances and digital content releases that are captivating fans around the globe.
On June 21, Rise made a striking entrance with a performance video on Mnet’s digital studio M2 YouTube channel through the content series ‘MOVE TO PERFORMANCE’. Following this, they continued their music takeover with appearances on Korea’s top music shows: M Countdown (June 22), Music Bank (June 23), Show Music Core (June 24), and Inkigayo (June 25).
The centerpiece of this promotional run is their latest title track, ‘Fly Up’, a high-tempo dance anthem inspired by the rock ‘n’ roll era of the 1950s. Its energetic rhythm and powerful choir arrangements set the stage for a performance that celebrates unity, freedom, and the boundless energy of youth, as Rise uses music and dance to break barriers and connect with fans globally.
The choreography for ‘Fly Up’ adds to its charm, crafted by internationally renowned choreographer Nick Bass, celebrated dance director Choi Young-joon, and the street crew ChillLit. The routines feature dynamic formations and character-driven storytelling, with standout moments like the group’s synchronized sky-reaching move, embodying the spirit of the song’s message.
In addition to ‘Fly Up’, Rise is delivering special stages for two fan-favorite B-side tracks. On June 22 and 25, they showcased ‘Ember to Solar’, a dopamine-charged dance number, while on June 23 and 24, they amped up the charisma with the hip-hop powerhouse track ‘100 Bad Back’.
Rise’s comeback has seen massive success across domestic and international charts. ‘Fly Up’ shot to #3 on Melon TOP100, #1 on Melon HOT100, and ranked first on both Bugs and Vibe. Their album also claimed #1 on the Hanteo Chart daily ranking, topped the QQ Music digital album chart in China earning a Platinum certification, and secured the #1 spot on AWA (Japan)’s real-time surge ranking chart.
With their retro flair, compelling storytelling, and top-tier production, Rise is redefining K-pop stages and solidifying their status as global performers to watch.
