South Korean actor Park Byung-eun, famously dubbed the ‘Fishing King of Actors’, recently flaunted his multifaceted charm in a visually captivating fashion photoshoot. True to his nickname, Park personally brought his real-life fishing gear to the set, showcasing both dedication and wit.

Even in the constraints of a limited poolside setting, Park Byung-eun delivered a breadth of expressions and poses that elevated the editorial’s quality. Ranging from charismatic to playful, every shot exuded his unique energy, proving his flair far transcends the screen.

In an accompanying interview, Park reflected on his attendance at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) after a decade-long hiatus: “As I walked the red carpet and watched several films at the theater, I got goosebumps. I was like, ‘That’s right, I’m a film actor.’ I had almost forgotten.” He added, “It felt like my heart started beating again.”

Park’s recent screen roles are a testament to his range. In the 2025 film ‘Lobby’, he plays a sharp and self-serving character that had audiences laughing at his cunning charm. Meanwhile, on Disney+‘s series ‘Hyper Knife’, he embraced a kind-hearted personality, balancing the more extreme characters within the show and earning praise from global viewers for his grounding performance.

And there’s no slowing him down—Park will soon appear in the upcoming Netflix original series ‘Dear Hongrang’ (titled Hongrang in Korean), premiering on May 16. He takes on the role of Sim Yeol-gook, the strategic and emotionally complex leader of a merchant guild, and the father of Hongrang (played by Lee Jae-wook) and Jae-e (played by Jo Bo-ah). This character promises to show yet another compelling dimension of Park’s already diverse acting portfolio.

With each project, Park Byung-eun continues to build a legacy defined by versatility, passion, and creative authenticity—on-screen and off.
