Park Bo-gum’s Hidden Kindness Behind the Scenes of ‘Bombshell on Set’
Park Bo-gum once again proves why he’s considered one of South Korea’s most beloved actors—this time with a story of quiet heroism on the set of the TV show ‘Bombshell on Set’ (폭싹 속았수다).
On June 19, a YouTuber and spatial designer who participated in the production shared a behind-the-scenes story from the filming location. In the video, they detailed how they created a miniature replica set, including a figure of Bo-gum’s character, Yang Gwan-sik.
The designer revealed that during a particularly chaotic scene, they had accidentally left their iPad right next to the set where Park’s character was placed. No one noticed the device—even the director, who cleared the take.
However, Park Bo-gum spotted the iPad after filming. Instead of outing the mistake, he approached the director and humbly said, “My acting felt a bit awkward. Can I check the monitor?”—ensuring another take to save the art team from potential embarrassment.
Later, he discreetly returned the iPad to the staff, reassuring them with a wink and a quiet, “It wasn’t caught. Don’t worry.” The designer added that “three of the art team members have not been able to recover from the charm of Bo-gum since—two of them are even male,” highlighting the heartthrob’s universal appeal.
This is not the first time Park Bo-gum’s respectful conduct has made headlines. IU, who recently filmed a drama with him, shared her own experience. She recalled how, during a year-long shoot, Bo-gum was consistently kind and calming—even when sick. But there was one moment he stood firm. A young child actor used a mild swear word they clearly didn’t understand. Bo-gum gently placed a hand on the child’s shoulder and said, “Do you know what that word means? Promise me you won’t use it again.”
Park’s role in ‘Bombshell on Set’ earned acclaim for portraying a youthful yet emotionally layered version of Gwan-sik. He combined soft charisma with a strong presence, revealing a new dimension to his acting.
Next, Park Bo-gum returns to the screen in the JTBC drama ‘Good Boy’, premiering on May 31. Fans are already looking forward to seeing more of his warm persona both on and off the screen.
