NewKids on the Starship Gears Up for Final Debut Evaluation Live
Global anticipation is reaching its peak as Starship Entertainment’s mega K-pop project Debut’s Plan nears its thrilling conclusion. On June 4 at 8 PM KST, the EP.9 Final Live of NewKids on the Starship will be livestreamed via the group’s official YouTube channel, determining which seven trainees will officially debut as the next Starship boy group.
After the intense Semi-Final on May 25, witnessed live by over 1,500 fans, a panel of Starship executives, trainers, and global supporters selected 12 final candidates—New Kids fighting for one of seven debut spots.
The final lineup will be determined through a combination of fan voting and executive judgment. Five of the seven debut members will be chosen based on a 50/50 split between fan votes and board evaluations. The remaining two will be selected through the Fan SAVE and Board SAVE features, adding an extra layer of engagement and suspense for supporters.
As part of the Final Debut Evaluation, the New Kids will showcase two grand finale performances: Moment That Pierces Through Dreams and Crown in Bloom. These Final Songs were chosen via a previous global fan matching vote, which closed on April 26. Whether the selected songs match the New Kids’ preferences remains a point of curiosity.
Among the standout contestants are Kim Minjae, Jang Gyuhyeon, and Jang Yonghoon—all of whom enjoyed concurrent support from both fans and executives, raising expectations for their debut. Meanwhile, Jeong Semin, who dominated all three public voting rounds, is being closely watched to see if he completes his journey to stardom.
During the Semi-Final Live, trainees delivered stunning performances of pre-debut tracks like Step Up, Sticky Bomb, and Password, as well as medley stages of past fan favorites like “I’m OK”, “You’re OK”, “DWN”, “So G.oo.D”, “New A.G.K.”, and “Balla”. These performances turned the event into a concert-like celebration of their months of effort.
One of the emotional highlights was the group’s heartfelt rendition of Letter Became Diary, a tribute that deeply resonated with fans. For over eight months, the New Kids have trained tirelessly with one unified dream, and now, with the finish line in sight, global K-pop fans are eager to witness who will bloom on debut day.
The Final Debut Evaluation airs live during EP.9 Final Live on June 4th, promising unforgettable performances and tear-jerking moments. Who among the 12 will step into the spotlight, and who will fall just short? The world is watching.
