Netflix’s New Star Lee Jun-Young Returns in ‘Weak Hero Class 2’

Rising actor Lee Jun-Young is making waves, once again, as he joins the powerhouse youth cast of Weak Hero Class 2, the gripping sequel to 2022’s hit school-action drama Weak Hero Class 1. During a press conference for the upcoming Netflix series, Lee shared his heartfelt excitement about being dubbed ‘Netflix’s Son’ by fans due to his growing list of collaborations with the streaming giant.

“I’m thrilled to be recognized as Netflix’s Son,” Lee commented. “I’ve had the opportunity to challenge myself with various roles on Netflix, and I’m truly grateful for the chances it has given me.”

Fresh off the popularity of his previous project, Lee touched on how emotionally overwhelming it was to be so well received. “I still feel dazed by the love I received for my past role,” he said. “And I feel deeply sorry for the character Geum Myung. But I believe fans will witness a completely different side of me in this new series.”

Weak Hero Class 2 continues the emotionally-charged journey of Yeon Si-Eun (played by Park Ji-Hoon), a model student who, still haunted by past trauma, transfers to a new school. Determined to protect those close to him, he braces himself against even more intense violence in a desperate fight for survival and growth.

Directed by Yoo Soo-Min and planned by acclaimed filmmaker Han Jun-Hee, the sequel builds upon the original’s unique take on the school drama genre, weaving in cinematic action and authentic emotional depth. Adding to the excitement, Lee Jun-Young joins a talented cast including Ryeo Un, Choi Min-Young, Yu Su-Bin, Bae Na-Ra, and Lee Min-Jae, promising a powerful lineup of fresh performances.

Weak Hero Class 2 is set to premiere globally on April 25, exclusively on Netflix.
