Netflix Unleashes Noir Action Thriller ‘Public Square’ on June 6

So Ji sub returns in new Netflix action drama Public Square based on Naver Webtoon

Netflix, Inc. is set to ignite this summer with the worldwide release of its latest Korean noir action thriller, Public Square, on Friday, June 6, at 4 PM KST. Adapted from the wildly popular Naver Webtoon original, Public Square promises gritty vengeance, adrenaline-pumping action, and emotionally intense performances.

Headlined by veteran actor So Ji-sub, the series marks his return to the action genre after 13 years. He joins an ensemble cast including Heo Joon-ho, Gong Myung, Choo Young-woo, Ahn Gil-kang, Lee Beom-soo, Jo Han-chul, Cha Seung-won, and Lee Jun-hyuk in a gripping tale of revenge and betrayal.

The storyline follows Ki-joon (played by So Ji-sub), a former legend in the underworld of the ‘Square,’ who once severed his own Achilles tendon to escape. After discovering that his younger brother Ki-seok (Lee Jun-hyuk), once the organization’s second-in-command, has been murdered, Ki-joon returns after 11 years to uncover the truth and unleash cold vengeance on those responsible.

The newly released teaser poster instantly grabs attention with a striking visual: Ki-joon standing alone amid fallen bodies in a narrow alley, drenched in blood and shadows. Splattered blood on the walls hints at a brutal solo brawl, creating a chilling anticipation. The tagline, “The rules are broken. He is back,” adds to the allure, signaling Ki-joon’s seismic impact on the criminal world he once ruled.

In the teaser trailer, Ki-joon mourns over his brother’s lifeless body and swiftly dives into the violent streets of Public Square, armed with his iconic baseball bat. Scenes showcase him decimating enemies with merciless precision in confined alleys, chased by dark forces, and staring down terrified foes pounding on closed doors. His unrelenting pursuit reveals a character driven solely by revenge, emotionless and cold-blooded.

The trailer concludes with a haunting declaration from Ki-joon, blood-soaked and resolute: “I’ll finish it. All of it.” Raising excitement and suspense, fans are eager to witness what lies at the end of his lonely, brutal journey.

With zero compromise and maximum intensity, Netflix’s Public Square is poised to redefine the noir revenge genre when it premieres globally on June 6.
