Netflix Star Reality Show ‘The Devil’s Plan: Death Room’ Exposes Brutal Filming Secrets
Netflix’s latest brain survival game show, The Devil’s Plan: Death Room, is set to premiere on June 6, and a recent teaser on the official Netflix Korea YouTube channel has already stirred curiosity among fans. The promotional video brought together KAIST graduate and model Choi Hyun-joon and ex-JTBC anchor Kang Ji-young, who opened up about their grueling filming experience.
“The show is like watching the most brutal war of wits and survival among 14 contestants being played by a demonic plan,” said Kang Ji-young. She added, “It was the toughest program I’ve ever participated in.”
Choi Hyun-joon echoed her sentiments, revealing the show’s unbearably intense schedule. “We’d wake up around 7 or 8 AM and start filming games by 9. Most days, we shot for over 12 hours straight.” He continued, “By the end, I lost so much weight I barely recognized my reflection in the mirror.”
The conversation took a humorous turn when Choi described legendary Go master Lee Se-dol’s struggle with the twisted challenges. “Even Se-dol hyung, who’s a genius in strategic thinking, was utterly dumbfounded by the absurd situations. He once joked, ‘I’m going to sue Netflix,’” Choi laughed. “He was constantly irritated and genuinely suffering.”
Kang Ji-young reminisced about the surreal moment of Lee Se-dol’s arrival. “It felt like time slowed down. I was like, ‘Why is HE here?’ I was genuinely shocked.”
As anticipation builds for The Devil’s Plan: Death Room, fans are eager to see more of the psychological warfare, intense game dynamics, and raw human endurance behind the show’s premise. With a powerful cast and an unforgiving format, it’s set to challenge not just the minds but also the mental stamina of its players.
