NCT’s Mark Surprises 4,000 Fans at His First Solo Pop-Up Event in China

Mark, a member of Neo Culture Technology (NCT) under SM Entertainment, is making waves with his first-ever solo album, The Firstfruit. To celebrate the successful release, a dedicated pop-up event was held in Guangzhou, China, from April 19 to 25 at Jingdong Mall, drawing major buzz among local fans.

The event, organized in collaboration with QQ Music, China’s leading music platform, offered an immersive experience centered around Mark’s debut project. With exhibit zones showcasing the album’s concept imagery, interactive photo zones, and a guestbook wall for fan messages, the pop-up created a comprehensive fan-centric zone. Even the mall’s exterior and interior digital billboards were adorned with images of Mark, amplifying his presence and attracting curious crowds.

The excitement peaked on April 21, when Mark made an unannounced appearance at the venue. His surprise visit drew over 4,000 fans, filling the five-story shopping mall with enthusiastic supporters. During the visit, Mark took part in filming the viral ‘1999’ dance challenge with the crowd, a moment that quickly spread across social platforms. He thanked fans warmly, saying, “Thank you for supporting my first solo album. I’ll continue to grow into someone you can be proud of.”

Mark’s solo debut has proven to be an immense success. The Firstfruit has sold over 500,000 copies, earning the ‘half-million seller’ title. He has also topped South Korea’s major music shows including Music Bank, Show Music Core, and Show Champion. On digital platforms, he secured the No. 1 spot on QQ Music‘s digital album sales chart in China, the trending chart on Japan’s AWA, and ranked on Spotify’s Top Album Debut Global chart. Additionally, he made an appearance on the UK’s Official Chart, landing on both the download and single sales charts, evidencing his global impact as a solo artist.

Mark is set to perform at the ‘2025 SBS Inkigayo Unicorn in Tokyo Dome’, scheduled to air at 3:10 PM on April 27. Fans across Asia are eagerly awaiting his performance, signaling that the Mark solo era is just getting started.
